PAI Research will enable you to join the research project you have signed up for.

Research projects will have different aims, but with the common goal to track your activity data using the wearable provided to you. By attending you contribute with valuable data enabling further research around physical activity, lifestyle and health risks.

WHAT IS PAI
Using this app you will get introduced to PAI - Personal Activity Intelligence. This is a heart rate-based score providing personal guidance on your physical activity level to help you get and maintain a healthy life - how much exercise you need to improve your cardiorespiratory fitness.

HOW PAI WORKS
Your PAI score is calculated based on your personal profile data and heart rate data collected over the past 7 days. Since we tend to live our lives in weekly routines it is a nice tool to build routines and habits. If your PAI score has dropped one morning, it means you did some activity one week ago - make sure to repeat that today and get your PAI score back up.

The PAI score suits all different habits, whether it is a walk every day, doing a spin class twice a week, or anything else. Do whatever you like to do that elevates your heart rate, and then PAI will help to ensure you do enough of it.

By maintaining over 50 PAI, and ideally over 100 PAI, you can add years to your life and more life to your years. Research has shown that maintaining over 100 PAI adds on average 5 years to your life and reduce the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 25%.

Why not use the first week to profile yourself, what is your PAI score. Then you can try to increase the duration or intensity of your activities and see how this influences your score. Build habits gradually, try to maintain and improve over time, and eventually make sure your lifestyle ensures you stay above 100 PAI on a consistent basis.

BACKED BY SCIENCE
The PAI algorithm was derived from one of the worlds largest health studies, involving over 45,000 people over 25 years. The purpose of the research behind PAI was to develop a single, easy-to-understand activity tracking metric that could empower people to adapt to a healthy lifestyle. Heart rate is the best way to measure the bodys response to activity, and the PAI score is analyzing your heart rates and translate it into a simple, meaningful score.
